G.I Joe art contest

My friend Sax is having a little G.I. Joe contest for all you fans + artist out there. this is what he has to say about the contest.
YO JOE! I'm back on the throwbacks with a vengance. As a kid I collected G.I.Joe figures and indulged in the 80's cartoon. One of the most remembered characters for me was Destro. Looking back now as an adult, he looks kinda pimpish, so I had to throw the Barroness in this pic. For the backdrop, I tried to replicate the toy packaging. I drew the characters on animation paper, scanned them in, then colored it all in photoshop. NOW IT"S YOUR TURN TO DRAW YOUR FAVORITE JOE! Alien designs

What have I been doing, you ask? Well at work I'm working on a new Ben 10 game that is going to be a multiplayer game. So i think its going to allow up to 8 people to play at once. Its a shooter game and I had to design some new aliens to be in the game that you can play as. Well here are a few designs that I came up with. The first one I did they thought was too cartoony. But so is the show that I'm doing it for so that made no sense to me. But whatever, I came up with 3 more for them to choose from. They ended up picking the last one with the wanna be Spiderman mask that i came up with.

Trick or Treat!!!!

I took these last night. Laila got all dressed up for daycare and then later that night our church rented out the skating ring and laila had a ball. I'll have to convert the video of her dancing on the floor. Its classic.

This is a concept image I was working on for the cover of my sketchbook that I've been talking about doing forever and just haven't gotten to it yet. Now that I look at it again I don't like the layout and the name of the book. So I'll redo it up and come up with something else that is hot. The second one is something old thats on my website that I never posted anywhere else.

R.I.P granny!

My granny pasted away last week and we put her to rest this weekend. I'm just glad she's not in anymore pain and can rest now. She's been sick for the last year or so and I didn't like seeing her in so much pain. My uncle sent me this picture of her this morning on my cel phone and I thought I'd post it.

I thought it was about time to post something new. I did this last thursday while surfing the net at lunch. I've just been trying to get the drawing bug back. I've been playing too much 360 and PS3 as of late and not drawing that much anymore. Time to change all of that.

When you get bored and you don't have your box 360 to play because the damn cheap thing got the red rings of death. lol! Ok i did this the other day (yesterday) at lunch. I need to dig up some old kung fu movies to watch. So if you have a list of must have Kung Fu movies hit me up and let me know what to try and get.

Mane there is nothing on tv these days worth a damn. I miss Lost! During the week I have nothing to watch. Well to help me get over my tv withdraw i did this up.

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a few weeks. Just been super crazy with work and what not and coming back home and playing with Laila. How come she's still spinning like a top and I'm about passed out. Seems like those little legs would get tired sometime. lol! Here are two drawings for you to chew on.

Today is Laila Day. I miss my lil midget. She's out in TX this week with her mom visiting family that she's never seen before. So I'm hoping she doesn't come back acting crazy and jumping off walls. lol! Juanita says she's walking pretty good since she left so that means I have to get all the cabinets locked up before she gets back. So much to do. lol!

Ok the animation and the designs on this are pretty cool in my book. Just the content I got a issue with. Why is everything on BET made to make Black folks look so ignorant and dumb?

Inspiration part 2

Hip hop is so out of control these days. Everything is coon music to me right now. Its all about how dumb can I look and sound. How many times can I show my teeth in my video. Hip hop is dead. There are a few people doing it right but for the most part its on life support. This is one of my inspirations that I listen to when I'm doing my artwork. I have nothing but old school classic stuff on my itunes. What are you pumpin when you work? Let me know.

Inspiration

I remember when this video came out. I was doing my art thing as a youngster and didn't think I'd be able to do anything with it until I saw this. The animation isn't that great now that I look at it again after all these years but it got my blood rushing when I first saw it. I knew I wanted to animate some of my artwork. Which I did in college. I animated a video to the Slick Rick, Mona Lisa track. I wish I still had that wack animated video lol! ok enough about me on to the video flash back.

Work work work...artbook still coming

Well as you can see I haven't posted much new art as of late. Sorry about that. My moms passed last month and now my granny is on life support with no brain activity at all. So i havent really had time or the heart to do anything new really. I am still working on my artbook. Just trying to find a good printer. Thinking of printing about 100 books at like 50 pages hardcover if I can get a good price. So if you know of any good printers that do that stuff let me know.

My lil Laila is growing up

The last few weeks Laila has decided that she wants to start getting up on her own and standing. She just begain crawling about 2 weeks ago also. so she's starting both at the same time. Noe she's all over the house. I have to go buy a few gates for the house to keep her from going to the stairs.

Unused Chris Paul Toy design

Awhile back I did some pre-Toy designs for the N.O.Hornets that went no where fast. I did a few different versions of Chris Paul. One with his gear and one with just tights and a wife beater on that would go under the outfits since they wante dto do real cloth for the uniforms. Wish this would have gone forward. They decided to play it safe and do some booble heads instead.

Warrior Remix!

I didn't really like the way the Warrior pic came out so I thought I'd do a Diddy and Remix it. I added some armor and added a top and the cool fantasy like sword.
