Delgo Has One of Worst Openings in the History of Cinema

The CG animated feature Delgo opened last weekend and nobody went to see it. According to Box Office Mojo, Delgo had the worst opening ever for a film that opened in more than 2,000 theaters earning just $511,290 or $237 per theater. Moments like this really make one pause and reflect. What is the world coming to when an animated film with the voices of Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, Chris Kattan, Anne Bancroft, Eric Idle, Val Kilmer, Lou Gossett Jr, Malcolm McDowell, Michael Clarke Duncan, Burt Reynolds and Kelly Ripa isn’t a box office blockbuster? A story that makes sense and visuals that don’t make you want to heave are quaint touches, but the filmmakers behind Delgo understood where it really counted: celebrity voice actors. They hired every B- and C-list actor this side of Dancing With the Stars and somehow still failed. You know the recession is affecting Americans deeply when they no longer want to see Chris Kattan and Kelly Ripa voicing their CG characters.

Ben 10 Bounty Hunters starts this Monday

Clone wars movie

Hmmm I saw the movie about a week or so ago at work. At first i thought since the movie was animated and in 3d they'd do some over the top stuff that they couldn't do in the other movies. Boy was I wrong. Then I thought maybe they'd flush out the story a little more. Dang I was wrong again. This movie was worthless. Just something to cash in on star wars name. No cool fights, no cool battle scenes, nothing that made people say whooooooooa during the movie. Everybody seemed to leave just empty. I was looking for more and walked away with nothing. I'd just say wait until its on dvd or when Cartoon Network shows it on tv. Its not worth the money. Luckily I saw it for free and i still wanted my money back.

Ma$e Mixtape art

Awhile back I got contacted by someone on myspace that said they were Mases assistant and that he was working on a new mix-tape. This was back when Mase was suppose to be with G-unit i believe. And that they wanted me to do a cover for his mix-tape. Of course i didn't want to do it since rappers never want to pay. they think they should get it for free or a hook up. Well my wife was going crazy and telling me to do it. So I said i would do it. Well long story short I was working on it and i asked for half up front once they saw the sketches that I did and they said they liked them. Well ol lord asking for money turned into hell and they got all hot because I asked for half. Half was really cheap by the way. Just a few 100. and the other half after i finished and i would send over the files. Well i never heard back from them once i asked for my money. lol! Rappers suck and I'll never work with one again.

Men In Black animated

Oh man I forgot all about Men In Black the cartoon. This was a pretty good cartoon for its time to be something that was based off a Movie. They need to bring this back lol!

Men in Black: The Series (informally MIB: The Series) was an animated television series that aired on the Kids' WB for four seasons from 1997 through 2001. Reruns ran briefly on Nickelodeon's SLAM! block in 2002. It was also on Canada's YTV.
The show featured characters from 1997's science fiction film Men in Black, which was based on the comic book series The Men in Black by Lowell Cunningham, originally published by Aircel Comics.
MIB: The Series was made by Adelaide Productions Inc. as a half-hour series airing on Saturday mornings originally and then moving to weekdays.

Differences Animation short

From the director of "READ A BOOK", Tyree Dillihay presents "DIFFERENCES"...the first in a series of shorts where children from different races and cultures learn more about one another...in a very innocent way.

This film was conceptualized over a year ago, but, after all the controversy READ A BOOK caused, I figured it'd be best I show people another side of my storytelling while still keeping it provocative.

If you like what you see...show support by simply passing the link on and let's get more animated content out that actually makes people THINK.

Waynehead Cartoon Flashback

"Waynehead, Waynehead, The party's jut begun. Waynehead, Waynehead, The 411 for fun…"

Inspired by the childhood of film/TV actor Damon Wayans, Waynehead proved that physical and financial challenges were no match for a healthy imagination and a smooth attitude. Damey Wayne was the star's 10-year-old alter ego, complete with a few autobiographical touches: Both Damon and Damey were born with a "club" foot, which slowed down their bodies but had no effect on their highly creative minds. The "Waynehead" nickname was another true-life note, given to Damey and his brothers because of their home-sheared hairdos.

In the cartoon, Damey and family lived in lower Manhattan, where the boy went through the usual ups and downs of childhood. The lack of money in the Wayne household made for a few extra challenges, but Damey compensated, as always, with creativity. If he wanted a toy, he built one from the neighborhood junk. The boy also honed his mechanical skills by taking apart anything he could get his hands on, though putting it back together was another matter. Through it all, Damey's family and friends—Monique, Shavonne, Toof, Blue, three-legged dog Tripod and others—always stuck together.

The cartoon was a family affair all around, with Wayans siblings Kim, Shawn and Marlon all providing voices. With its warm humor and message of accepting those who are different, Waynehead earned high praise, but it wasn't enough to save the show from cancellation after a single season

Proud Family Cartoon Flashback

The Proud Family was created by Bruce W. Smith and was produced by his studio, Jambalaya Studios. Originally piloted for Nickelodeon [1], it was eventually picked up by the Disney Channel in 2001. Many of the later episodes of The Proud Family were produced using Macromedia Flash. LaCienega and Sunset Boulavardez are puns for La Cienega Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard, actual streets in Los Angeles and the school that Penny Proud and her friends go to is named for auto racing driver Willy T. Ribbs, who was the first African American to qualify for the Indianapolis 500. (Coincidentally, the patriarch of the Boulevardez family is named Felix, who is Oscar Proud's neighbor and best friend. This is a pun to Felix and Oscar of The Odd Couple.) There was also a recurring character named Wizard Kelly, a former professional athlete (whose face was never seen). Because he owned every sports/entertainment venue in the city, his name appeared on everything (pun to Magic Johnson). It was first broadcast in the United States on The Disney Channel on September 15, 2001, and now also airs on Toon Disney. It has also been broadcast on The Family Channel in Canada.

Cartoon Flashback is back!!!

I use to post old cartoons that I grew up on. So I thought I'd get back into it. Here is a clip form one of my favorites The Jackson 5 cartoon. The Jackson 5ive was a Saturday morning cartoon produced by Rankin/Bass from 1971 to 1973, based upon the careers of the popular Motown recording group The Jackson 5. The series was animated mainly in London at the studios of Halas and Batchelor, and some animation done at Estudios Moro, Barcelona Spain. The director was Spanish-American Robert Balser.

Happy New Year

2008! Already? Wow! Since its a new year that means a new year of predictions for the year that I won't be able keep. Well, my first New Year's resolution is to redo my main website that is falling apart and hasn't been touched in over 2 or more years since I started the Blog. So What I may end up doing it removing all the art off this here blog and putting it on my website and starting this over with just day to day doodles. Nothing finished. I say that now and a year from now I'll be looking back at this post. My second New Year's resolution is to go ahead and get my artbook printed and out to the 5 people that will pay for one. My third New Year's resolution is to get back on my diet ASAP. I've been slack really slack. The cold weather hasn't helped any either. Well I think thats about it for now. If I think of anything else I'll edit this and post more.. lol! Have a great 2008!
