Wolverine

Since the movie is out now I thought I'd do a drawing of one of my favorite characters of all time growing up. Not that Hollywood version. I hate that watered down clown. The real deal baby!

woman warrior

A woman warrior is a role of interest to historians and scholars of anthropology and feminism.

The portrayal of women in literature and popular culture as warriors has been studied in literary, film, feminist and cultural studies. In fictional works, the character type often refers to a strong female personality, determined in pursuit of her goals and often eager to take on typical "man's work" like fighting wars or performing manual labour to accomplish those goals. This type of character has become a stock character, and stands in contrast to the "damsel in distress" archetype . When of a royal background, a woman warrior may be called a warrior princess.

Street Fighter 4 is Out

Well I did a post once before about Street fighter 4. Well the game came out this week and it looks great. Here is a pic i drew of one of my all time favorite characters from Street Fighter.

UPDATE about the movie. Found a few movie reviews:If at first you don't succeed ... fail, fail again. That must have been the mantra during filming of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, staring Canadian sweetheart Kristin Kreuk. Can anyone even feign surprise that the latest Street Fighter flick is a train wreck? It isn't easy following up a classic, and by that we of course mean Street Fighter: The Movie, staring the Muscles from Brussels, Jean-Claude Van Damme. Yes, we said classic. It was one of the greatest unintentional comedies of our generation.

* AMCtv.com: "I much prefer the flamboyant badness of the '94 flick to the attractive, even-keeled mediocrity of this one. Jean-Claude Van Damme's stock just rose considerably."
* WJFK-FM (CBS Radio) (-5/5): "As a fan of the video game series, I can honestly say that this is hands down one of the worst films I have ever seen. Chris Klein is so bad that he made the movie a comedy."
* IGN Movies (1.5/5): "It may not be as gaudy or goofy as its predecessor, but it's far more boring and banal. It's a videogame adaptation that loses sight of what made the game popular to begin with: it was fun."

Me. Myself and I

In the history of me drawing I've never drawn a pic of myself. I guess I've always felt I don't do great likenesses so I stay away from trying to do portraits. Well here is the first that I did last week when I was bored.

Strike a Pose

Something quick I did this week while waiting on a new project to start up. If you're good at coloring and you want to give the black and white version a go at it go for it. When you finish hit me up and I'll post it on the blog for others to see what it came out like.

The MC

I think I'm going to start animating my own game soon. This is the main character give or take. I may change him up some. But it'll be a side scrolling beat em up game. Kinda like Double Dragon was back in the day.

Biggie is the G.O.A.T.

I went and saw the Biggie movie this past weekend. It was pretty good. If you like 8 mile and Ray kind of music movies then it was good for what it was. I'm a big B.I.G fan. I remember seeing him live back at Freak Nik '94 before anyone really knew who he was. He only had the Party and Bullshit single out at the time on the Who's the Man soundtrack plus 88.5 back then use to play that song all the time here in Atlanta. We were robbed of a great artist when we lost B.I.G.

Delgo Has One of Worst Openings in the History of Cinema

The CG animated feature Delgo opened last weekend and nobody went to see it. According to Box Office Mojo, Delgo had the worst opening ever for a film that opened in more than 2,000 theaters earning just $511,290 or $237 per theater. Moments like this really make one pause and reflect. What is the world coming to when an animated film with the voices of Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, Chris Kattan, Anne Bancroft, Eric Idle, Val Kilmer, Lou Gossett Jr, Malcolm McDowell, Michael Clarke Duncan, Burt Reynolds and Kelly Ripa isn’t a box office blockbuster? A story that makes sense and visuals that don’t make you want to heave are quaint touches, but the filmmakers behind Delgo understood where it really counted: celebrity voice actors. They hired every B- and C-list actor this side of Dancing With the Stars and somehow still failed. You know the recession is affecting Americans deeply when they no longer want to see Chris Kattan and Kelly Ripa voicing their CG characters.

I got inspired this weekend after seeing the movie Cadillac Records. Pretty good movie. Everybody did a good job acting wise. So go peep it if you haven't seen it yet.
